ALÉ

Los Angeles

The darkness and light of the world hides dangers and beauties, unimaginable. These wonders await those who dare to try, and dare to never give up. ALÉ is one of those artists who does just that. With his upcoming album, "Irregular Heartbeat" he manages to fight back against the tide. The album fits perfectly with our daily fits of jubilation and struggle. He won't give up…he can never give up. "Sometimes you want to dance, sometimes you want to contemplate your existence. Sometimes you just want to say 'Fuck the World.'" ALÉ knew of the dangers in the world from a young age. While just a child, the LA Night Stalker, Richard Ramirez, desperate and on the run, tried breaking into ALÉ's childhood home. It's the kind of story that becomes part of a family's lore, and may have had an impact on his urgent need to express himself. When death comes to your door, you fight to find a way of living. That desire to fight for your life has also infected ALÉ's writing and musical sensibilities. The urgency of "Irregular Heartbeat" sounds like the soundtrack to self-preservation. Always re-inventing himself and never giving up on his expression, he's written this new album to reflect on what fuels his desire to create. With songs based around feet friendly beats and self-empowering themes, the uplifting melodies to be found on the recording have a uniquely contemporary feel. And the lyrical themes and word play, in both English and Spanish perfectly match the fire of the album's rhythms and anthemic mood. Your hope and angst now have a musical companion. The recording soothes by acknowledging both your confidence and insecurities. Having grown up in Los Angeles, playing in punk bands in East LA, and being influenced by Latin music, electronica and Hip Hop, ALÉ has blended these styles into a coherent and emotional set of songs. Recorded, engineered and produced at the Operating On Dreamtime studios in LA by ALÉ and at the famed Laundry Room Studios in LA (with veteran producer/engineer Ulysees Noriega manning the desk), the sounds are immediately accessible and inviting. You might even say the Album is "strong enough for a man, but made for a woman."
